How much is a gantry crane?

What are the models of gantry cranes?

1. According to the gantry frame structure：

a. Full gantry structure: The main beam has no overhang, and the trolley is running in the main span.

b. Semi-gantry crane: The semi-gantry crane has only one side of supporting leg, and the other end of the crane is placed on the runway beam of the workshop like an overhead crane.

c. Double cantilever gantry crane: A common structural form, the force of the structure and the effective use of the site area are reasonable.

d. Single cantilever gantry crane: This structural type is often selected due to the site constraints.

2. According to the main beam structure：

a. Truss beams: The structure is welded by angle steel or I-beam. This type has the advantages of low cost, light weight and good wind resistance. However, due to the large number of welding points and the defects of the truss itself, the truss beam also has the disadvantages of large deflection, low rigidity, relatively low reliability, and frequent inspection of welding points. It is suitable for small lifting capacity and low using frequency.

b. Box girder: The steel plate is welded into a box-type structure, which has the characteristics of high safety and high rigidity. Generally it is used for large tonnage and super tonnage gantry cranes. Box girder also has the disadvantages of high cost, heavy self-weight and poor wind resistance.

c. Single main beam. The single main girder gantry crane has a simple structure, is easy to manufacture and install, and has a small weight. The main girder is mostly an off-track box frame structure. Compared with the double main girder gantry crane, the overall stiffness is weaker. Therefore, when the lifting weight Q≤50t and the span S≤35m, this type of design can be adopted. The gantry legs of single girder gantry crane are available in two forms: A type, L type and C type. Just as its name implies, the A type is its leg looks like shape “A”. This type of design is the most common crane structure. The L type has good stress condition and small weight. It is also easy to manufacture and install. However, the space where the goods are lifted through the cantilevers is relatively small. The legs of the C-type are inclined or curved in order to have a large lateral space so that the goods can pass through the legs smoothly.

d. Double main beam. The double main girder gantry crane has strong bearing capacity, large span, good overall stability and many varieties, but its dead weight is larger than that of the single main girder gantry crane with the same lifting capacity, and the cost is also higher.

A. The load of the gantry crane.

The larger the load of the gantry crane, the more expensive the gantry crane is.

B. The gantry crane structure.

The gantry crane with different span, height, cantilever requirement etc, the price is also different. The higher dead weight of the gantry crane, the higher cost of it.

C. The material of the gantry crane.

Some gantry cranes are made of special materials, such as stainless steel gantry cranes. Besides, explosion-proof gantry cranes are more expensive than ordinary material gantry cranes.

D. The price of gantry cranes is also related to accessories. Some accessories can make the gantry crane to achieve some special functions, such as the gantry cranes with hydraulic grab, electromagnetic lifter or container spreader, and then the gantry cranes are more expensive to have those accessories.
