The Difference Between Electromagnetic Crane and Permanent Magnet Crane

Oct 25, 2023

In modern industrial processing and production operations, electromagnetic cranes and permanent magnet cranes are two commonly used slings for handling metal objects, which can improve lifting and handling efficiency and production safety. Their differences are as follows:

electricmagnet

Electricmagnet

permanent magnet

Permanent Magnet

1. Working Principle: Electromagnetic cranes use an electromagnet to generate a magnetic field when an electric current passes through the coil. The magnetism can be turned on or off by controlling the electric current;Permanent magnet cranes utilize permanent magnets that have a constant magnetic field. These magnets do not require an external power source to maintain their magnetic force.

2. Power Supply: Electromagnetic cranes require a continuous supply of electricity to maintain the magnetic field. They are typically connected to an electrical power source;Permanent magnet cranes do not require a continuous power supply as their magnets retain their magnetic force without external power.

3. Energy Efficiency: Since they do not rely on electricity, permanent magnet cranes are considered more energy-efficient than electromagnetic cranes.

4. Control: The magnetic force of an electromagnetic crane can be adjusted or switched off, allowing for precise control over the lifting and releasing of loads;Permanent magnet cranes offer less control in this regard.

5.Application: In situations with high automation requirements, frequent lifting and high lifting intensity, choose electromagnetic crane. Electromagnetic crane can control the size of the magnetic force by controlling the size of the current and the on-off of the current. The operation is simple and efficient; while the permanent magnet crane uses Mechanical lever principle, automatic control to pick up and release steel plates or manual control, has low efficiency and is not suitable for occasions with frequent lifting and transportation.
